Yes, bagging you trash does mean more plastic bags. However, utilizing bags for trash not only helps prevent loose debris from blowing out of the trash receptacle or truck, but also ensures it makes its landfill destination. It also prevents biohazards, such as soiled toilet tissue, diapers, hygiene supplies, etc... from coming in contact with other residents and waste handlers. This is hazardous and can spread illness!

If your pickup will be running as scheduled, secure all loose trash, and place your bin on a flat, solid surface to reduce the possibility of tipping. Do not place your bin curbside if your route has been cancelled.

Leaving bags on the ground will attract local wildlife and domestic pets. These little creatures will destroy the bag(s) and spread loose debris throughout the area.
